After more than 1,500 matches, spanning 24 years and 20 memorable Grand Slam victories, Roger Federer has announced he’ll be hanging up his racquets – and incredible blazer collection – at the end of September after the Laver Cup in London.
Having not played since Wimbledon 2021 due to injury, Federer took to his social media to deliver a classy message – we expected nothing less – thanking his fans, family, opponents and support teams for their continued love and all the good times.
Over the course of his career, it’s not just the tennis that has done the talking. He’s frequently featured on our best-dressed men list with off-court Federer evolving from an XL-wearing red-carpet amateur to a sportsman with a finely tuned wardrobe – think Dior suits and plenty of rollneck knits. And on court, he’ll forever be remembered as being decked out in his own super-chic RF x Nike collab.
Both on and off the court, Federer’s one true constant (other than his wife, Mirka) has been the fact he’s always sported AAA UK Rolex replica watches. A friend of the brand since 2011, we figured now is the time to take a trip down memory lane to admire all of his Rolex flexes – saving the best for his retirement announcement.
Roland-Garros 2009
Federer began his relationship with high quality Rolex fake watches a decade ago. Taking to the court during The French Open the tennis champ opted for a Yacht-Master II in a heavy-duty white-gold design. Featuring a setting mechanism controlled by a ring command bezel as well as a regatta timer, it was originally designed for sailors (hence the name), but we’ll let Federer off. Worn by the likes of David Beckham, Bruce Willis and Mark Wahlberg, the Swiss made replica Rolex Yacht-Master watches has found love outside the yacht club and, thanks to its uber-luxe design, will sex up any suit, whether in the office or a black-tie event.
Wimbledon 2012
Back in 2012 Roger Federer may have taken home the yellow-gold Wimbledon trophy, but he was favouring rose gold for his wristwear. For his win he wore perfect copy Rolex Day-Date II watches in an Everose gold edition, which came complete with a chocolate-brown dial, luminescent indices and the Day-Date signature president’s bracelet. Sure, he won the title, but he also put himself among other Day-Date wearers JFK, Dwight D Eisenhower and, more recently, Elton John. For us, the Day-Date screams power, so wear this (and one of Hackett’s new made-to-measure suits) if you want to get that promotion you’re after.
Miami Open 2017
For the Miami Open a couple of years back, Federer opted for top replica Rolex Sky-Dweller GMT watches just three days after the watch first made its debut at Baselworld (if that doesn’t scream super fan then we don’t know what does). His Rolex Sky-Dweller reference 326934 came in steel and white gold and is one of the Swiss brand’s most complicated watches, featuring a dual-time zone function and an annual calendar. Slightly bigger than other watches in the Rolex family and powered by a calibre 9001, the luxury Rolex Sky-Dweller super clone watches is a statement-maker, favoured by the likes of Jay-Z. Wear this to really grab someone’s attention, be it at a party or business meeting.
Australia Open 2017
Federer may be a hero himself, but for the Australia Open in 2017 he called upon the Batman. Well, sort of. The Swiss movements Rolex GMT-Master II replica watches got itself that moniker thanks to its black and navy colour palette. The unique thing about this watch is that it has the capacity to tell dual time – handy for someone like Federer who travels a fair bit. The watch that Clint Eastwood wore, Rolex took Chanel’s idea of working with ceramic for timepieces and made it its own with the GMT-Master II. We’re pairing ours, like the Batman, with a black form-fitting suit – just ours is from Paul Smith.
Wimbledon 2017
For his record-breaking eighth Wimbledon win, Federer wore a rather appropriate watch that has been a champion among others since it was first released in 1946. The China fake Rolex Datejust 41mm watches has stood the test of time, winning popularity with those who favour a classic timepiece. Featuring Rolex’s in-house automatic 3235 movement, which gives the timepiece a 70-hour power reserve, the Federer-favoured watch is crafted in steel and yellow gold. A watch for winners, wear this to schmooze your in-laws.
Australian Open 2018
Federer’s last Grand Slam win – at the time a record 20th – was in Melbourne in 2018, when he defeated Marin Cilic in a five-set thriller. He was able to hold back the tears right up until the presentation of the trophy, where he duly blubbed his eyes out. Whether or not he had the foresight to know this would be his last ever Grand Slam, only he’ll know, but as always his wristwear was right on point. An update from the year before’s cheap Rolex Sky-Dweller replica watches, this stainless steel Sky-Dweller with a blue dial annual calendar GMT watch, which at the time had only just been unveiled, so naturally Federer was one of the first people to parade it around.
Wimbledon 2022
With eight Wimbledon titles to his name, no men’s tennis player has ever won as many – or maybe will ever – on the grass of SW18. It’s now very possible that the last time we see Federer step out on to Centre Court will be the summer of 2022, when he made a dapper appearance to honour Sue Barker’s retirement from presenting the BBC’s tennis coverage. Given the occasion, it was perhaps fitting that he was wearing one of his most impressive Rolexes – wholesale fake Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watches bedazzled with orange sapphires no less.
Federer’s retirement announcement
As if there wasn’t going to be a standout watch for the Swiss GOAT to bow out on. Sat in his trophy cabinet at home wearing a blue t-shirt underneath a blue denim shirt, his arms are crossed and his sleeves are rolled up perfectly to reveal not only his beautiful forearms responsible for that cross-court forehand and that backhand slice, but also an 18K white gold Daytona with a meteorite dial. Yes, both the Fed and his watch collection are out of this world, a combination of talent and grace we’ll likely never again witness on a tennis court. That said, after Carlos Alcarez’s maiden victory at the US Open last week, where he was spotted wearing black dial best quality replica Rolex Daytona ref 116500 watches, is this is when the crown is handed down to the next people’s champion? We shall see.
